Seasoning: Dries well but slowly.

Uses: This attractive timber has high strength properties, durability and outstanding stability and is ideal for high-class joinery, furniture and cabinet-making. Also used in fancy turnery, carvings, tool and knife handles, spirit levels, paddles and oars. It has a high resistance to abrasion and makes an excellent heavy-duty flooring timber. Also suitable for floors, where underfloor heating has been installed, because of its dimensional stability. Selected logs are sliced for very attractive decorative veneers. Renowned as a dye wood.
