General: Its heartwood is a pale pinkish-brown, with the sapwood being quite lighter, almost white.  It is a straight grained softwood which is relatively strong given its light weight.

It has alternating bands of high and low density timber in the annual rings resulting in uneven wear, however this is sometimes made into a feature by snadblasting them to make them stand out prominently.
Seasoning: The timber seasons well
Uses: Most commonly useed for exposed rafters and beams.
