About the CompanyTimspec was established in 1990 as a wholesaler of specialty timbers. Today we import, export, and wholesale a large range of timbers to joiners, furniture manufacturers, and builders supply merchants. Timbers stocked include species from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand's exotic and indigenous species.
With a commitment to providing uncompromising service, we deliver good quality timber on time, time and time again. We aim to dispatch orders within 24 hours, and consistently achieve this.
We work hard to build great working relationships with both our customers and suppliers and only source timber from the best mills and lumber yards. Timspec is wholly NZ owned and is managed by the owners - a tightly run ship.Certificates and MembershipsFSC & PEFC: Timspec are Chain-of-Custody certified for both FSC and PEFC, in fact we were the first major NZ timber importer to have both accreditations. We are committed to being the leaders in the supply of timber from well managed forests from around the world. More information about FSC and PEFC can be found on our Resource Certification page.ITTG: Timspec are a member of the New Zealand Imported Tropical Timber Group (ITTG), a group that represents tropical timber importers, tropical timber retailers, and environmental and conservation groups. The ITTG aims to ensure that all tropical timber imported into New Zealand is sourced from sustainably managed forests and to provide purchasers with a reliable assurance of this. Also, where appropriate, the ITTG contributes to relevant policies of Government and international tropical timber agencies. This was the first timber cladding system in New Zealand to gain CodeMark accreditation.
